Volunteer
Rahma is community-led, and most of what we do depends on people giving their time.
Everyone who volunteers with us accepts our safeguarding policy. It sets out how we expect people to behave, and how to raise a concern.
Before you write
What volunteers do
- On a visit day
- Cooking and serving food at the home, handing out clothing and supplies, and keeping the day running.
- Before a visit
- Shopping for the food, clothing and other supplies, and packing them ready to go.
- Finding support
- Approaching businesses and people who might contribute, and bringing in what they give.
- If you are a clinician
- Our medical camps are run by volunteer doctors and nurses working under their own registration. If that is you, say so when you write.
Visits happen when enough has been raised for one, so there is no fixed rota. On the day you work alongside our members, the home's own rules apply to all of us, and nobody from Rahma is ever alone with a child.
